SOUTH SUPPLIES & LOGISTICS OFFERS A WIDE VARIETY OF GASSES USED IN FOOD INDUSTRY
Food gasses are specially designed to intervene in the food and beverage production process and contribute to its preservation. To this end, we guarantee their maximum quality and purity, which are essential for maintaining the organoleptic and nutritional qualities of food and beverages unaltered.
Protective Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) replaces the air inside the package with a protective gas mixture to keep food fresh for longer.
The use of N2 in bottling under inert atmospheres and deodorization preserves the taste and aroma of juices, oils and frozen foods. Dissolved oxygen can be removed by entrainment with nitrogen.
South Supplies & Logistics distributes products that can be applied to cryogenic cooking as well as to cocktails or beverage dispensing (beers, sparkling wines, soft drinks, cider and vermouth).
The use of N2, O2 and CO2 is used for the production and processing of high quality wine.
CO2 and N2 in wineries, O2 for winemaking, and dry ice at harvest.
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a slightly acidic, non-flammable, odourless and colourless liquefied gas. CO2 is heavier than air and is soluble in water. It is kept as a cryogenic liquid and we supply it in iso tanks.
Applications: The use of carbon dioxide is widespread in a wide variety of sectors, such as
Food, carbonated beverages, beverage gasification, packaging, refrigeration and freezing, deburring and grinding, neutralization, metal processing applications, catering Medicine: metabolic mixtures. Cellular plastics: supercritical fluid extraction

Oxygen is a highly reactive chemical, capable of forming compounds with almost all known elements except noble gases.
Applications: Oxygen has enormous applications in human industries, such as:
Medical uses. Oxygen is used as a breathing gas in the life support of surgical patients and as therapy (oxygen therapy) for patients with heart and lung conditions, etc.
Life support. In space missions, submarines and similar, low pressure gaseous oxygen is used as a breathing gas, to sustain the habitability levels of suits, ships and cabins.
Industrial uses. for the production of iron alloys such as steel. In the chemical industry, for the manufacture of numerous textile materials and plastics. Finally, oxygen is also used to burn acetylene and to make torches capable of cutting metal very quickly.
Fuels and purifiers. Oxygen is also used to oxidize rocket fuel, for waste water treatment or, as ozone (O3) for water purifiers.

Nitrogen is a colorless and odorless gas, forming part of the atmospheric air at 78.09 % Vol. Nitrogen is also found in proteins, in organic and inorganic compounds and in natural hydrocarbon deposits.
Applications: Nitrogen is non-reactive and excellent for coatings and is often used as a purge gas. Two thirds of the nitrogen produced by the industry is sold as a gas and the remaining third as a liquid.
Nitrogen gas is primarily used to create an inert atmosphere when oxygen in the air can lead to a fire, explosion or cause oxidation. Some examples include:
Food industry, light bulb industry, fire extinguishing systems, stainless steel manufacturing, tire filling, aircraft fuel systems, chemical analysis and chemical industry, pressurized beer kegs
